Dubai Shopping Festival to launch with dazzling 1,000-drone show

A breathtaking display of 1,000 drones will illuminate the skies on Friday, Dec. 6, marking the grand opening of the 30th Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF).

From Dec. 6, 2024, to Jan. 12, 2025, festival-goers can enjoy this mesmerizing show twice each evening at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. The performance will take place above Bluewaters Island and The Beach, JBR, offering a stunning visual experience.

The drone shows will be split into two distinct themes. The first, running from Dec. 6 to Dec. 26, will celebrate the 30-year legacy of DSF, highlighting key moments from the festival’s rich history.

The second show, scheduled from Dec. 27, 2024, to Jan. 12, 2025, will focus on Dubai’s remarkable achievements, showcasing the city’s growth and global prominence.

In an exciting twist, the drones will also create a scannable QR code in the sky, allowing viewers to send personalized messages. These messages will then be displayed live in the sky on Dec. 13, 2024, and Jan. 11, 2025, as part of a spectacular show that will include drones, fireworks, and skydivers.

For those seeking even more excitement, Dubai Festival City Mall will host nightly fireworks shows at 9:15 p.m. Additionally, Hatta will feature fireworks displays twice a week during the weekends.
