The Endowment and Minors’ Trust Foundation in Dubai, known as Awqaf Dubai, said Thursday that its educational endowment assets reached AED718 million in 2026, a 52% increase from the previous year, according to WAM news agency.

The foundation manages 52 endowments dedicated to supporting education and empowering students from low-income families. Its portfolio includes 24 real estate endowments valued at AED663 million—comprising buildings, villas, and retail units—and 28 financial endowments valued at AED55 million in bonds and shares.

Proceeds from these assets fund educational opportunities and school supplies in collaboration with 45 educational institutions. In 2025, roughly 3,100 students enrolled in public schools and universities in the UAE and abroad benefited from scholarships totaling AED5.9 million.

Ali Al Mutawa, secretary-general of Awqaf Dubai, said educational endowments are a key pillar for supporting underprivileged students and enabling them to achieve academic goals.

He noted that the 52% growth reflects the foundation’s ongoing efforts to expand support and ensure the sustainability of educational giving.

Awqaf Dubai is also focused on developing its portfolio further and increasing the number of beneficiaries to strengthen long-term social impact.

Al Mutawa emphasized that endowment funds play a vital role in helping students advance professionally and contribute to a sustainable and progressive society.

He praised donors and philanthropists, saying investing in education is an investment in the UAE’s future.
