The Federal Board of Revenue, Pakistan’s tax collection authority, has completed scrutiny of its officers’ asset declarations, uncovering that several officials failed to disclose their assets, according to an official circular issued Monday.

The directive, sent to senior officials including members, chief commissioners and director generals, said multiple officers did not comply with earlier instructions to declare their assets during the review process.

The FBR has asked all officers to submit records of their assets covering the past 10 years of service as part of a consolidated report being prepared for the Establishment Division.

“Scrutiny of records has revealed that a number of officers have not declared their assets,” the circular said, referring to findings during the internal review.

The board has taken serious notice of the non-compliance and set April 24 as the final deadline for submission of complete asset records.

Officials who fail to meet the deadline will face strict action, including suspension of performance allowances, the FBR warned.
The move is part of broader efforts to enhance transparency and accountability within Pakistan’s tax administration as authorities push for governance reforms in public institutions.
