Pakistan launches new e-payment system for taxpayers
With ePayment 2.0, the Federal Board of Revenue offers a unified interface directly within IRIS 2.0
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has introduced ePayment 2.0, a new payment creation system within the IRIS 2.0 portal, to simplify tax payments for Pakistan’s taxpayers.
This advanced platform enables secure and user-friendly online payments via internet banking, ATMs, and mobile banking, eliminating the need for physical bank visits.
ePayment 2.0 covers a wide range of taxes, including Income Tax, Sales Tax, Federal Excise Duty, and Withholding Taxes. Previously, taxpayers had to switch between separate portals for payments. Now, with ePayment 2.0, FBR offers a unified interface directly within IRIS 2.0.
The system generates a unique Payment Slip ID for quick payments and issues a Computerized Payment Receipt (CPR) via email and SMS.
The system allows real-time PSID generation, payment through ADC channels, and CPR issuance, enhancing transparency and accountability. It also includes a PSID search feature to easily retrieve payment records, reducing errors and delays.
Aisha Farooq, Director General (IT&DT), inaugurated the ePayment System at PRAL Headquarters in Islamabad. She emphasized the system’s role in improving taxpayer convenience and operational efficiency.
This innovation reinforces FBR's leadership in digital tax administration, streamlining tax payments within the IRIS 2.0 platform and making compliance more accessible for taxpayers across Pakistan.
