Officials expect reduced grey market activity

The Punjab government’s anti-encroachment drive, launched in October 2024, is still going strong.

Thousands of illegal structures have been removed across major cities, including 4,000 in Lahore alone.

Both the public and business community have welcomed the move, calling it a step toward cleaner streets and a stronger formal economy.

ADC Lahore Mudassar Nawaz says the drive will help curb the grey economy and restore transparency.
