Moderate rains have finally arrived in Dubai on Monday afternoon, bringing a welcome change to the weather. Many regions across the UAE experienced heavy rainfall, with some areas even seeing hail.

Earlier in the day, showers were reported as predicted, particularly in the internal and southern parts of the country.

The weather department issued an alert on social media, warning residents about heavy rains in various parts of Ras Al Khaimah. The wadis in the northern emirate came back to life as the rain caused streams to flow in Ghalila.

Today's showers are expected to be accompanied by strong winds reaching up to 60 km/h, which may lead to blowing dust and sand, reducing visibility to less than 3,000 meters in some eastern and northern areas.

What is an Orange Alert?

An "Orange Alert" for rain indicates that heavy rainfall is expected, which could lead to potential flooding or hazardous conditions. This alert serves as a warning for people to take precautions, such as avoiding low-lying areas, being cautious on the roads, and preparing for possible disruptions to daily activities. It's a signal to stay informed and ready to respond to changing weather conditions.

Green Alert, Yellow Alert, Orange Alert and Red Alert.

Weather forecast for October 1:

Fair to partly cloudy conditions are expected, with a chance of convective cloud formation in the eastern and southern regions, possibly leading to rainfall.

Winds will be light to moderate, blowing from the southeast to northeast, occasionally freshening during the day with speeds of 10 to 25 km/h, and reaching up to 35 km/h at times. The sea conditions will be slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
