JazzCash, Pakistan’s leading digital financial service, has partnered with KTrade to provide seamless access to stock trading through the JazzCash app, officials announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC).
The agreement was signed by Murtaza Ali, President of JazzCash, and Ali Farid Khwaja, Chairman of KTrade, with Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz, in attendance.
The collaboration enables JazzCash’s 13 million active app users to open a stock trading Sahulat Account, deposit funds, trade stocks, and manage investments within the app. KTrade’s integration as a mini app allows users to open a Sahulat brokerage account with funding up to PKR 1 million, as permitted by the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
Murtaza Ali President JazzCash emphasized the importance of inclusive investments, stating, “Our partnership with KTrade is a major milestone in expanding stock trading opportunities for millions. By integrating stock trading into JazzCash, we are not only simplifying investing but also actively supporting the SECP and PSX’s vision of increasing retail participation in the stock market. This collaboration will play a crucial role in broadening financial literacy and fostering a more inclusive investment ecosystem in Pakistan.”
Currently, only 0.15% of Pakistan’s 240 million population is actively investing in stocks. This partnership aims to bridge this gap by simplifying stock market participation.
With growing digital adoption and interest in alternative investments, regulatory support from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and PSX is fostering financial inclusion opportunities.
"This partnership with KTrade is a milestone in expanding stock trading opportunities," said Ali. "By integrating stock trading into JazzCash, we support SECP and PSX’s vision of increasing retail participation in the stock market. This collaboration will broaden financial literacy and foster a more inclusive investment ecosystem in Pakistan."
Khwaja added, "Partnering with JazzCash allows us to extend our reach to 13 million users, many of whom have never had access to retail investing before. This is a game-changer, making stock market participation as simple as sending a mobile payment."
The integrated platform will provide users with access to real-time stock trading, enabling them to buy and sell shares instantly with live market data. Users will also efficiently manage investment portfolios, track market trends, and invest in fractional shares. The integration includes educational resources such as investment tutorials, research reports, and podcasts to help users make informed decisions.
Security is a top priority, with the platform regulated by SECP, PSX, and NCCPL. Transactions will be permitted only through mapped bank accounts, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) will be required for all trades to ensure fraud prevention and data security.
Users will also benefit from personalized market alerts and AI-driven stock recommendations, keeping them informed about stock price changes and market trends in real-time.
