JazzWorld CEO says AI transformation hinges on workforce reskilling

As artificial intelligence reshapes jobs, businesses and industries, the defining challenge for companies will not simply be adopting new technology. It will be preparing their people to work differently with it, said Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of JazzWorld.

What did JazzWorld's CEO say about AI and reskilling?

Speaking at the induction of JazzWorld's first AI Associates Program cohort in Islamabad, Ibrahim said organizations risk treating AI as another technology deployment when the deeper transformation is about people. He said the shift affects how employees work, make decisions, solve problems and build products and businesses.

"The AI transition will be won by reskilling the workforce. Technology will continue to move quickly, but organizations will only transform if their people develop the skills and confidence to work differently with it," Ibrahim said.

What are the three stages of becoming AI-native?

Ibrahim described the journey to becoming AI-native as a progression through three stages: AI-enabled, AI-first and AI-native. He said AI-enabled work focuses on improving existing workflows, faster processes, better decisions and stronger customer experiences.

AI-first means redesigning a process, product or customer journey now that intelligence is available, he said. AI-native is the stage where companies build things that would not have been possible without AI at all.

Ibrahim said this shift requires companies to rethink workforce development beyond courses and certifications. He said the real measure of progress is practical AI fluency, whether people use AI to improve productivity, make better decisions, rethink processes and solve real business problems.

What is JazzWorld's AI Associates Program?

Following a nationwide recruitment process, 100 young professionals have joined JazzWorld's year-long AI Associates Program. They are gaining hands-on experience across fintech, cybersecurity, data science and analytics, software development and digital platforms.

Rather than working in a standalone AI team, the associates will sit alongside existing teams on real business and customer challenges. Their focus will be identifying where AI can improve productivity, decision-making and the way products and services are built.

"The ambition is much bigger than producing 100 good AI professionals. It is to create 100 catalysts for a much broader transformation," Ibrahim said.

How does JazzWorld see AI shaping Pakistan's economy?

Ibrahim placed the reskilling challenge in the context of Pakistan's young population, arguing that the country's demographic advantage will increasingly depend on whether young people can participate meaningfully in an AI-driven economy. He said Pakistan has an opportunity to develop a generation that creates products, businesses and economic value with AI, rather than simply consuming the technology. That, he said, will require closer ties between learning, practical experience and the changing needs of the workplace.

VEON Group CEO Kaan Terzioğlu, who attended the induction, said developing strong human capability alongside technology will be fundamental to building AI-native digital operators across VEON's markets. He called Pakistan's young population a significant opportunity and stressed the need to prepare talent for an increasingly AI-driven economy.

JazzWorld Chief People Officer Tazeen Shahid was also among the senior leadership attending the induction, alongside representatives of Pakistan's AI ecosystem.

"Ultimately, success is when AI stops being something separate that we talk about and becomes part of how we work, compete and build," Ibrahim said.
