Pakistan all out for 133 against England in third Test

Pakistan were bowled out for 133 against England on the opening day of the third Test at Edgbaston on Wednesday, continuing their poor batting form on their tour of England.

Why were Pakistan all out for 133 against England?

Pakistan were dismissed for 133 in just 33.5 overs after England's pace attack exploited overcast conditions at Edgbaston. Josh Tongue took four wickets, while Ollie Robinson and Jofra Archer claimed three each.

Pakistan, already 2-0 down in the three-match series, had made major changes after their 194-run defeat at Lord's. Seven players were banished, while head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and assistant Umar Gul were sacked.

They fielded three debutants among four changes in Birmingham, but the reshuffle made little difference. Pakistan have now failed to reach 200 in five innings on the tour.

Who top-scored for Pakistan in the third Test?

Saud Shakeel was Pakistan's top scorer with 43, offering the most resistance among the specialist batsmen after making 97 at Lord's. His 47-ball innings included seven fours before Tongue bowled him between bat and pad.

Tailender Mohammad Abbas added 21 before becoming the final wicket, but Pakistan's lower order could not prevent another rapid collapse.

Pakistan's troubles began when recalled opener Saim Ayub was dismissed for a duck, lbw to Robinson's nip-backer. The wicket gave Robinson his 100th in Test cricket.

Archer then removed Azan Awais with a short delivery, before Robinson dismissed Abdullah Shafique, who edged to gully.

How did England's bowlers dismiss Pakistan so quickly?

Pakistan were 26-4 inside 10 overs when captain Shan Masood holed out while attempting to pull Archer. Babar Azam followed for seven, clean bowled by an excellent Tongue delivery that jagged back off the seam.

Wicketkeeper Ghazi Ghori, one of Pakistan's three debutants alongside Mohammad Imran and Razaullah, was then trapped lbw by Tongue for four as Pakistan slipped to 64-6.

Pakistan were seven down before lunch when Tongue bowled Imran for five with a superb yorker that broke a stump. Razaullah then struck the final ball of the session over cover for four to take Pakistan to 100.

Razaullah fell to his first delivery after lunch, edging Robinson's leg-cutter to Ben Duckett in the slips.

Shakeel's dismissal left Pakistan 107-9 before Abbas battled on, but Archer eventually had the final say as Pakistan were bowled out for 133.

The collapse gave England another strong start after captain Joe Root won the toss and chose to put Pakistan in, with the hosts' pace attack making full use of the conditions.
