Harry Potter lands coming to Abu Dhabi theme park

Three new Harry Potter-themed lands will be built at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, expanding the region's largest indoor theme park by more than 50 percent, the United Arab Emirates' state news agency WAM reported. Miral, in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences, announced the project on Yas Island.

Is Harry Potter World coming to Abu Dhabi?

Yes. Miral and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences have confirmed three new Harry Potter-themed lands, Diagon Alley, Hogwarts and the Forbidden Forest, at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi. The lands will cover approximately 63,000 square meters and feature rides created exclusively for the park, with construction targeted for completion in 2029.

Where is the new Harry Potter theme park located?

The new lands will be built at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi on Yas Island, adding a major attraction to the emirate's growing leisure and entertainment offering. Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi currently has six themed lands, and the Harry Potter expansion will mark one of its largest additions since opening.

"The introduction of the three new Harry Potter-themed lands represents a significant milestone in the continued evolution of Yas Island and the emirate of Abu Dhabi," said Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of Miral. He said the expansion reflects Miral's longstanding partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences and supports Abu Dhabi's economic diversification and tourism ambitions.

What else is being added to Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi?

Simon Robinson, president of Global Experiences and Studio Operations at Warner Bros. Discovery, said the project would deepen the relationship between the company's franchises and visitors. "Introducing three new Harry Potter-themed lands allows us to deepen the connection between our iconic franchises and the guests who cherish them," he said, adding that the development reflects the company's long-term vision for immersive entertainment experiences.

The park is also set to add two previously announced DC attractions, Kryptonite Collider and Superman Up and Away. Together, the Harry Potter and DC additions will increase the park's overall size by more than 50 percent, adding around 70,000 square meters of theme park space and further strengthening Yas Island's position as a global leisure and entertainment destination.
