Pakistan's cement industry recorded a 7.21% rise in total dispatches during fiscal year 2025-26, according to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA). The growth was driven by strong domestic demand, even as exports slipped slightly. The fiscal year ended on June 30, 2026.

Pakistan cement dispatches rose 7.21% to 50.515 million metric tons in FY2025-26, up from 47.116 million tons a year earlier. Domestic sales climbed 9.5% to 41.507 million tons, while exports fell 2.19% to 9.008 million tons. Strong local construction demand drove the overall increase.

How did cement dispatches perform in June 2026?

Total dispatches rose 18.38% year over year in June 2026, reaching 4.331 million tons compared with 3.658 million tons a year earlier. Local cement dispatches increased 26.78% to 3.541 million tons. Export volumes declined 8.73% to 789,840 tons during the same month.

How did north and south-based mills compare in June?

North-based mills dispatched 3.019 million tons in June, up 16.39% from 2.594 million tons a year earlier. South-based mills dispatched 1.31 million tons, a rise of 23.23% from 1.065 million tons. Domestic sales by north-based mills rose 26.53% to 3.019 million tons, while south-based mills sold 522,021 tons locally, up 28.24%. North-based mills recorded no exports in June, while exports from southern mills rose 20.12% to 789,840 tons.

How did north and south mills perform for the full fiscal year?

North-based mills increased domestic dispatches by 10.83% to 34.720 million tons for the full fiscal year, though their exports dropped 53.85% to 777,207 tons. This left their total dispatches up 7.53% at 35.498 million tons. South-based mills recorded domestic dispatches of 6.787 million tons, up 3.18%, while their exports rose 9.36% to 8.230 million tons, lifting total dispatches 6.48% to 15.017 million tons.

What is the outlook for Pakistan's cement industry?

An APCMA spokesperson said cement demand is expected to remain strong in the coming months across both domestic and international markets. The spokesperson added that collective efforts to resolve geopolitical tensions would help secure competitive and stable energy supplies, addressing concerns over high energy and fuel costs.
