Pakistan-Europe maritime service launched
The weekly service launches with 11-week turnaround using 6,000 TEU ships

The India North Europe Express (INX) has launched a weekly maritime service connecting Pakistan to Europe.
The service schedule to commence on February 5, from Karachi will ensure timely and efficient delivery of Pakistani goods to European ports and beyond.
The sea lines of communication (SLOCs), which facilitate international trade, are expected to grow further in the foreseeable future, a statement said.
Pakistan, strategically located at the crossroads of Central Asia, South West Asia, and the Persian Gulf, aims to leverage its geographical advantages, said Vice Admiral Abbasi.
The maiden voyage will include ports such as Hazira, Mundra, Nhava Sheva, Colombo, London Gateway, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, and then back to Karachi.
The service is designed as a weekly route with a turnaround time of 11 weeks using 6,000 TEU container ships.
Sohail Shams, CEO of United Marine Agencies (UMA), stated that the INX service promises a robust connection between Western India and Northern Europe.
"This development not only diversifies the region’s maritime service portfolio but also enhances regional trade and global transshipment opportunities," he said.
United Marine Agencies, the exclusive agent for HMM in Pakistan, plays a crucial role in strengthening Pakistan’s maritime trade by representing leading global shipping lines and handling cargo to destinations worldwide.
Sohail added, "This service signifies more than just a route; it represents progress, innovation, and the shared commitment of our global partners to simplify and enhance international trade."
Yang Jungmo, Commercial Chief Pricing & Marketing for Southwest Asia at HMM, also addressed the audience, highlighting the significance of the INX service for global trade and emphasizing HMM’s commitment to providing reliable and efficient shipping solutions.
The INX service is a collaboration between HMM, Ocean Network Express (ONE), and Pakistan’s United Marine Agencies, aimed at streamlining logistics, enhancing connectivity, and driving economic growth in the region.
