Teenage son of Pakistani newspaper editor shot dead in Lahore

Gunmen shot dead the teenage son of a senior Pakistani newspaper editor in Lahore on Tuesday. The 16-year-old was travelling with his father to attend a court hearing when unidentified assailants opened fire, police said.

Gunmen on motorcycles opened fire on a father and son travelling together in Lahore's Harbanspura area on Tuesday, killing the teenage boy at the scene.

The father, Nadeem Iqbal, News Editor of the daily Jang, was unharmed. The attackers fled immediately, and police have launched an investigation.

The victim was 16-year-old Saad, son of Nadeem Iqbal. Saad died at the scene, and his body was taken to Mayo Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
