Pakistan's cement dispatches rise despite lower exports in December
First-half fiscal year shipments jumped nearly 10% to 25.8 million tons, buoyed by a 13% surge in domestic sales

Pakistan’s cement dispatches edged up 1.47% in December 2025, driven by higher domestic demand despite a sharp decline in exports, according to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA).
Total cement dispatches during the month stood at 4.347 million metric tons, compared with 4.284 million tons in December 2024.
Domestic dispatches rose 6.42% to 3.725 million tons from 3.5 million tons a year earlier. Export dispatches, however, continued their downward trend, falling 20.66% to 621,685 tons from 783,550 tons in December 2024.
North-based cement mills dispatched 3.153 million tons in December, up 5.56% from 2.987 million tons last year. South-based mills dispatched 1.19 million tons, down 7.94% from 1.29 million tons in the same month last year.
In the domestic market, north-based mills dispatched 3.153 million tons, an increase of 9.75% compared with 2.873 million tons in December 2024. Domestic dispatches by south-based mills declined 8.81% to 572,263 tons from 627,519 tons a year earlier.
Exports from the southern region fell 7.14% to 621,685 tons from 669,461 tons in December 2024. No exports were recorded from north-based mills during the month.
During the first six months of the current fiscal year, total cement dispatches — including domestic sales and exports — reached 25.783 million tons, up 9.67% from 23.51 million tons in the corresponding period last year.
Domestic dispatches during July–December 2025 rose 13.11% to 21.152 million tons, compared with 18.7 million tons in the same period of the previous fiscal year. Export dispatches declined 3.73% to 4.631 million tons from 4.81 million tons.
North-based mills dispatched 17.915 million tons domestically during the six-month period, up 14.67% from 15.623 million tons a year earlier. Exports from the north fell 18.53% to 808,506 tons from 992,413 tons. Total dispatches by north-based mills increased 12.68% to 18.723 million tons from 16.616 million tons.
South-based mills dispatched 3.237 million tons domestically during the first half of the fiscal year, an increase of 5.22% from 3.077 million tons. Exports from the south remained nearly flat at 3.822 million tons, compared with 3.818 million tons a year earlier. Total dispatches from south-based mills rose 2.39% to 7.059 million tons from 6.894 million tons.
