Pakistan's tire industry is targeting USD 150 million in exports during fiscal year 2027, up 29% from USD 116 million in FY2026, according to industry figures.
Service Long March Tyres Limited (SLM) alone aims to increase its exports to USD 100 million, accounting for two-thirds of the industry's projected earnings.
The sector's exports have more than tripled from USD 35 million in FY2022, with manufacturers supplying international markets including the United States and Brazil.
How much is Service Long March contributing to Pakistan's tire exports?
SLM exported USD 67 million worth of tires in FY2026, representing approximately 58% of the industry's reported total, according to a senior industry official. Its USD 100 million target for FY2027 would represent an increase of around 49%.
The company began commercial production in 2022 and has expanded its presence in overseas markets, supported by Chinese technology and manufacturing partnerships.
Recent figures also show an increase in exports. SLM recorded USD 9.5 million in exports in September 2026, compared with USD 6.9 million in the same month last year, a rise of nearly 38%, according to industry figures.
Its September exports accounted for approximately 63% of the industry's reported USD 15.1 million total that month.
Which international markets are Pakistani tire manufacturers targeting?
The United States and Brazil are among the industry's export destinations, where manufacturers must meet international product quality and safety standards.
Pakistan is also expanding into exports of passenger-car radial (PCR) tires.
Armstrong ZE began exporting locally manufactured PCR tires in August 2026, including shipments to the United States.
SLM plans to begin exporting PCR tires in 2028, according to the industry information provided, adding another product category to its international business. Its annual report separately identifies January 2028 as the planned commissioning date for its PCR manufacturing facility.
Can Pakistan achieve its USD 150 million export target?
The industry's FY2027 target would add USD 34 million to its reported FY2026 export earnings.
Achieving that goal will depend on manufacturers securing repeat orders, meeting international quality requirements and controlling production and logistics costs.
Further export growth would increase the tire industry's contribution to Pakistan's foreign exchange earnings and help diversify the country's manufactured exports.
