Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has warned that the country will target terrorists wherever they operate and will not tolerate violence in Pakistan instigated by events abroad, signaling Islamabad’s firm stance against external efforts to destabilize the nation.

Speaking at a meeting with Ulema in Rawalpindi, Munir underscored the critical role of religious leaders in promoting national unity, tolerance, and societal cohesion. He emphasized their responsibility in countering sectarian narratives, misinformation campaigns, and externally sponsored efforts aimed at undermining Pakistan’s security and social harmony.

Referring to the recent Operation Ghazab lil Haq, the army chief reiterated that Pakistan will continue precise, intelligence-driven operations against terrorist networks and their infrastructure wherever they may be. He stressed that the Afghan Taliban must prevent their territory from being used to plan or launch attacks targeting Pakistan.

Munir also highlighted Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic measures aimed at regional de-escalation, stressing that dialogue and cooperation remain essential to maintaining peace. He called on Ulema to actively discourage extremism and ensure that religious sentiments are not exploited to provoke violence or unrest.

He warned that any act of violence in Pakistan motivated by events abroad will be met with decisive action. “Violence in Pakistan, on the basis of incidents occurring in another country, will not be tolerated,” he reaffirmed.

The participating Ulema expressed strong support for peace, stability, and the rule of law, condemning all violence carried out in the name of religion. They also voiced full backing for Pakistan’s law enforcement and security agencies in maintaining order and safeguarding national security.
