Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif met with traders and industrialists in Islamabad, assuring them that electricity prices will be reduced on March 23.
PM also assured the interest rate would be brought down to single digit too, an industrialist at the meeting told Nukta.
Sharif stated that the government is formulating a comprehensive strategy to increase exports. He emphasized that reduced electricity prices, coupled with lower interest rates, will reduce production costs.
The Prime Minister assured that he would meet with traders and industrialists every month for consultations. He highlighted that steps are being taken to create a business-friendly environment and that national development is possible only through mutual cooperation.
Besides, clear targets have been provided to trade officers stationed abroad for the promotion of trade and exports."
"With your consultation and valuable opinions, we will continue the journey of improving the national economy and reforms in all sectors," Sharif said.
"The national economy is moving in the right direction. There has been a significant reduction in interest rates and inflation. The government is providing a conducive environment for business activities and investment in the country.” PM said.
Participants in the meeting expressed full confidence in the government's business-friendly policies and presented suggestions regarding various sectors.
Prime Minister directed all relevant ministries to meet with representatives and stakeholders of business sectors for consultation.
