Polish couple Kowalczyk Jakuo Tomasz and Scantamburlo Mae Elisabeth were robbed in Sindh's Sujawal.
Police in Pakistan’s Sindh province have detained four individuals for questioning as they investigate the robbery of a Polish couple traveling by bicycle near the Sujawal bypass on Saturday, authorities said.
According to SSP Sujawal Abdul Khalique, the couple, Kowalczyk Jakuo Tomasz and Scantamburlo Mae Elisabeth, were on a world tour when three men on a motorcycle approached them and stole their mobile phones. No other valuables, such as cash or documents, were taken, Khalique said.
The stolen phones, identified as Sony Xperia models, were taken in an area where authorities had not been informed of the couple’s visit. “If we had received prior notice, we would have ensured security for them,” Khalique added.

Police have filed an FIR and are pursuing the suspects, utilizing CCTV footage from a nearby petrol station and a shop. Authorities have provided the couple with replacement phones to maintain contact with their family. The tourists are currently in Hyderabad, safe but shaken by the incident.
“We are making every effort to apprehend the culprits and ensure such incidents do not occur again,” Khalique said.
Earlier, during their stay in Thatta, the couple spoke to local media, sharing their positive experiences in Pakistan. They particularly praised the warm hospitality of the Sindhi people, describing it as one of the highlights of their journey.
The pair, who have been cycling through 10 countries—France, Italy, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Russia, Turkey, Iraq, and Iran—expressed their enthusiasm for exploring Sindh’s rich cultural and archaeological heritage. They also praised the kindness and generosity of the local communities.
Their next destination is India, as they continue their ambitious world tour on bicycles.
