Pakistan's Sazgar Engineering Works is planning to launch a new imported completely built-in unit (CBU) electric vehicle — Ora 07 — in the country next week.
Sazgar made the announcement in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Tuesday.
The Ora 07 is an electric vehicle produced by Chinese manufacturer Ora, a brand of Great Wall Motor.
The mid-size sedan has been marketed overseas since 2023.
The vehicle is priced at around 42,000 euros in Europe, which translates to approximately PKR 12.6 million. The price in Pakistan will depend on the applicable duties and taxes.
The Ora 07 is designed to stand out with its unique and quirky aesthetic. It offers a range of features, including two battery sizes and options for single or dual motors. The top model boasts a 402bhp GT variant with an 83.5kWh battery, providing a range of approximately 320 miles.
Based in Lahore, Sazgar Engineering Works is popular for manufacturing a variety of vehicles, including auto rickshaws, automotive wheel rims and household electric appliances.
