Pakistan’s homegrown cybersecurity platform, socbyte.ai, has announced the launch of “Dexter,” the country’s first AI-powered Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst.

In a statement, the company said Dexter represents more than a technological milestone — it is a signal of Pakistan’s growing capacity to develop indigenous cybersecurity solutions in an era of mounting digital threats and cyber warfare.

Why indigenous cybersecurity tools matter

Pakistan faced 34 million cyberattacks in 2023 and 2024, while the global cybersecurity market has reached an unprecedented scale, valued between $245 billion and $272 billion in 2024 and projected to reach $500 billion by 2030.

Within this ecosystem, the agentic AI market alone was valued at $4.26 billion in 2024, with the U.S. market worth $1.58 billion. However, in an era of increasing cyber warfare and geopolitical tensions, relying solely on foreign cybersecurity solutions poses strategic risks.

The statement said that indigenous tools like SOCByte provide several critical advantages, like digital sovereignty for Pakistan, local threat intel, community building, and supporting local innovation and job creation in high-value sectors.

Proudly built in Pakistan

SOCByte takes pride in being a homegrown solution, developed entirely within Pakistan's growing tech ecosystem. It is also a young team, which is evidence of what the Pakistani youth is capable of.

According to the statement, the AI SOC Analyst is designed to grow smarter over time, learning from new threats and adapting to the evolving cybersecurity landscape. This continuous improvement ensures businesses stay protected against both current and future cyber risks.

What is Dexter?

Think of Dexter as an intelligent cybersecurity partner that works alongside human analysts, not replacing them, but empowering them to make better, faster decisions.

Unlike fully automated systems, Dexter operates through human-AI collaboration, presenting critical findings to security professionals who maintain ultimate decision-making authority.

"We're not building technology to replace our cybersecurity community, we're building it to amplify their capabilities," said Sulaiman Asif, founder of SOCByte.

"Dexter represents what's possible when Pakistani innovation meets global cybersecurity challenges. This is our contribution to strengthening Pakistan's digital defense ecosystem."

Dexter is an integrated part of the SOCByte platform, immediately available for managed security service providers. SOCByte offers flexible partnership models.
