The U.S.-UAE Business Council hosted Chief AI Officers from UAE government entities during an official visit to the United States, bringing together 50 senior officials for high-level engagements with leading U.S. tech companies, WAM reported.
The gathering brought together more than 180 leaders, offering UAE executives the chance to engage with global AI experts, business leaders, and government officials.
Speakers included Engineer Mohamed bin Taliah, Chief of Government Services in the UAE, Danny Sebright, President of the US-UAE Business Council, and Jim Wunderman, CEO of the Bay Area Council.
Focus on AI, governance, and innovation
Discussions highlighted collaboration in advanced technology, opportunities for future partnerships, and the role of the AI Chief Executives Model in government.
Mohamed bin Taliah said AI adoption across government remains a top priority. He noted that direct engagement with leading technology companies provides a vital platform to exchange expertise, explore best practices, and expand international partnerships.
“Empowering national talent through advanced training programmes is essential to building a smarter, more innovative digital future,” bin Taliah said.
Cybersecurity and global collaboration
Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of the UAE Government Cybersecurity Council, warned of growing cyber threats, adding that international cooperation has become a necessity.
“These engagements reflect the UAE’s leadership in cybersecurity and its commitment to global collaboration in tackling challenges ranging from data privacy and critical infrastructure protection to AI-driven defence,” he said.
He added that the UAE recognizes the importance of safeguarding digital assets against accelerating threats.
"We continue to build our cyber resilience by advancing next-generation technologies, building national expertise, and fostering knowledge exchange to create innovative solutions,” he said.
Strengthening partnerships
Dr. Abdulrahman Al Mahmoud, Director of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Office, said the visit reflects the government’s vision to build a digital future through global collaboration.
He said the goal is to expand partnerships, unlock opportunities for joint innovation, and develop solutions with top technology leaders worldwide.
The event concluded with an open dialogue on collaboration between the government and private sectors, and case studies in digital governance and applied AI.
Participants agreed that such initiatives are vital for advancing the UAE’s digital transformation and reinforcing its role as a global hub for innovation and technology.
