A third transshipment vessel has docked at Karachi Port as authorities work to maintain maritime trade flows amid regional disruptions affecting sea routes, the Karachi Port Trust said.
According to the port authority, the vessel MV PHOTON, operated by CGLA, arrived Sunday at the Karachi International Container Terminal carrying transshipment cargo destined for ports in the Middle East.
The arrival marks the third transshipment vessel to call at Karachi Port in recent days, reflecting what officials described as growing confidence among international shipping lines in the port’s operational capacity and strategic location.
Port operations continue
Port officials said the docking of MV PHOTON underscores Pakistan’s role as a regional maritime hub and demonstrates Karachi Port’s ability to support global shipping lines despite ongoing disruptions to regional sea routes.
The Karachi Port Trust said it has taken proactive measures to mitigate the impact of the maritime crisis and maintain the flow of trade.
Authorities stress continuity of trade
Despite heightened regional tensions, Karachi Port remains fully operational and committed to facilitating maritime commerce, officials said.
The port authority added that it continues to provide efficient transshipment services and reliable port operations to ensure continuity of trade.
