A high-level UAE delegation, led by Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), has completed a four-day visit to China aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the civil aviation sector, WAM reported.
The delegation included senior officials from the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), EDGE Group, and the Ras Al Khaimah Department of Civil Aviation, with the visit underscoring the UAE’s commitment to expanding its strategic aviation partnership with China.
Beginning in Shanghai, the delegation held technical discussions and site visits with top Chinese aerospace companies including COMAC, TCab Tech, AutoFlight, and CETC LES, focusing on manufacturing, licensing, and innovation. Al Suwaidi also toured COMAC’s production facilities and met with Vice Chairman Shen Bo to explore future industrial collaboration.
“Our goal is to advance cooperation in key areas such as aircraft manufacturing, technical certification, and knowledge exchange,” said Al Suwaidi. “This visit marks a concrete step towards new partnerships aligned with our long-term aviation growth strategy.”
In Beijing, the UAE officials engaged with counterparts from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and the Air Traffic Management Bureau (ATMB) to discuss regulatory alignment, maintenance cooperation, and air navigation services. The mission concluded with a high-level meeting between Al Suwaidi and CAAC Administrator Song Zhiyong, alongside UAE diplomatic representatives in China.
Both sides reiterated their shared commitment to deepening aviation ties and outlined a mutual vision for future cooperation in the civil aviation sector.
