The UAE has dispatched a twelfth plane to Lebanon, carrying 40 tonnes of aid including food, medical supplies and shelter equipment.

The UAE has dispatched a plane carrying 40 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Lebanon, according to WAM. This is the 12th plane sent as part of the ‘UAE stands with Lebanon’ relief campaign, delivering essential supplies such as food, medical equipment, shelter materials, and other necessities .

This aid effort comes a day after the Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable & Humanitarian Foundation announced a contribution of AED 5 million in both financial and in-kind support for Lebanon.

The relief package includes a cash donation of AED 3 million, along with in-kind assistance worth AED 2 million.

The aid package comprises:

  • 10,000 food parcels
  • 5,000 blankets
  • 1,200 winter kits with essential protection items
  • 5,000 mattresses
  • 1,000 relief kits
  • 2,000 solar-powered fans
  • 1,000 first-aid kits
  • 15,000 clothing sets
These efforts are expected to benefit over 25,000 families, benefiting more than 125,000 individuals.

The Zayed Foundation has implemented several key projects in Lebanon, including the Sheikh Zayed School in Tripoli, Sir El Dinnieh Government Hospital, Saida Technical Institute for Young Women and the Zayed Library at Manar University.

Dr. Mohammed Ateeq Al Falahi, director-general of the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, praised the overwhelming response from UAE citizens and residents to the campaign. He emphasized it demonstrates solidarity with those affected by the current crisis, providing essential supplies to ease their hardship.

The campaign was launched under the directives of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. It is being closely followed by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, under the supervision of Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs and Chair of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council.
