UAE president and Turkish foreign minister discuss bilateral relations and regional developments
Leaders emphasize cooperation, Middle East stability, and support for Syria’s sovereignty.
President of the UAE Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi , where the two leaders discussed enhancing cooperation across various fields as well as developments in the Middle East.
The leaders addressed key regional issues, emphasizing the need to prevent the expansion of conflicts in the Middle East and chart a path toward sustainable peace and security.
Discussions included the situation in Syria, with both sides affirming their commitment to Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity while supporting the aspirations of its people for stability and development.
During the meeting, Fidan conveyed greetings from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, along with his wishes for continued progress and prosperity in the UAE. Sheikh Mohamed reciprocated with his regards to Erdogan and his hopes for Türkiye’s ongoing growth and development.
The meeting was attended by several high-ranking UAE officials, including Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi.
