UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan attended a special dinner hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin at his official residence in Moscow, WAM reported.

During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed thanked Putin for his ongoing commitment to strengthening UAE-Russian relations and wished the country and its people continued prosperity.

Putin, in turn, expressed gratitude for the "personal relations" that have enabled both countries to solve problems, specifically noting the UAE's assistance in arranging prisoner exchanges during the ongoing war in Ukraine.

He added that the relations between the two states amounted to a "strategic partnership."

Russian news agencies reported that the two leaders would discuss violence in the Middle East and the war in Ukraine in formal talks on Monday. Putin characterized the situation in the Middle East as "complicated," with Israel engaged in combat in both Gaza and southern Lebanon.
