UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan spoke with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the phone on Tuesday to discuss rising tensions in the Middle East and their potential impact on regional and global security, WAM reported.

The conversation comes amid the ongoing Iran-Israel-U.S. conflict, which erupted following Israeli and American strikes targeting key Iranian officials and military infrastructure. Since the outbreak of hostilities, Gulf states including the UAE have faced repeated missile and drone attacks, targeting critical infrastructure, ports, airports, and residential areas, raising concerns over civilian safety and economic disruption.

During the call, Modi condemned the recent Iranian attacks on the UAE and other countries in the region, highlighting India’s concern over the destabilizing effects of the conflict. He also affirmed India’s support for the UAE’s efforts to protect its citizens, maintain sovereignty, and ensure security within its borders.

The leaders discussed the broader regional implications of the war, noting that sustained escalation could disrupt trade, energy flows, and diplomatic relations across the Gulf and South Asia. Both sides stressed the importance of pursuing dialogue and diplomacy to de-escalate tensions and prevent the conflict from spreading further.

They also underscored the necessity of coordinated regional responses and international cooperation to uphold stability, security, and peace in the region.
