UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is set to embark on an official visit to the Russian Federation on Thursday, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
During the visit, Sheikh Mohamed will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss ways to further strengthen bilateral ties, with a focus on economic cooperation, trade, investment, energy, and other sectors that support joint development under the framework of the UAE-Russia strategic partnership.
The discussions are also expected to address regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The upcoming visit follows a high-level round of trilateral talks hosted in the UAE on January 23-24, which brought together Russian, Ukrainian, and US officials in Abu Dhabi in a bid to advance peace negotiations aimed at ending the war in Ukraine.
The talks, brokered by the United States, marked a continuation of the UAE’s active diplomatic role in regional and global conflict resolution.
Sheikh Mohamed’s most recent official visit to Russia took place last year, during which he emphasized that UAE-Russia relations are built on mutual trust and respect, underpinned by more than five decades of constructive engagement. That visit also saw the signing of the Trade in Services and Investment Agreement, further cementing economic collaboration between the two nations.
