UAE ranks 2nd globally in internet speed: Speedtest Index
Dubai and Abu Dhabi rank among world's top cities in terms of net connection
The UAE has earned a global ranking of second place for fixed and mobile internet speeds, according to Speedtest Index data for the first half of 2024. This marks a significant improvement, with fixed internet services advancing five positions from seventh place at the end of 2023.
Local operators are ramping up efforts to upgrade fixed service network infrastructure, aiming to provide world-class services to subscribers. The UAE continues to lead the region and the Arab world in fixed internet speeds, surpassing 283 Mbps, while Singapore remains at the top of the list.
