UAE steps up Gaza relief efforts with new aid vessel

Observers have described “Operation Chivalrous Knight 3” as one of the UAE’s most sustained relief campaigns.

The United Arab Emirates is ramping up its maritime humanitarian effort to Gaza by loading the eighth vessel in its Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 series, stocked with vital food, medical, and shelter supplies - a clear signal of its escalating involvement in relief aid for Palestinians, WAM reported.

The ship, named Khalifa, began its loading at Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi earlier this week and is expected to carry 7,166 tons of supplies, making it the largest UAE maritime mission to Gaza to date.

The cargo breakdown includes 4,372 tons of food, 1,433 tons of shelter materials, 860 tons of medical supplies, and 501 tons of health items.

Once loaded, the vessel will sail to El Arish Port, Egypt, where its contents will be offloaded and transported overland to Gaza via coordinated relief routes.

This deployment is part of a broader UAE strategy that combines sea, air, and land corridors to deliver aid. Since November 2023 - the launch of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 - the UAE has delivered tens of thousands of tons of relief aid to Gaza via multiple aid ships, convoys and airlifts.

Observers have described “Operation Chivalrous Knight 3” as one of the UAE’s most sustained relief campaigns, underscoring its commitment to humanitarian diplomacy in the face of Gaza’s worsening crisis.
