The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has reminded taxpayers to update their tax records before March 31, 2025, to avoid administrative penalties. The extended grace period allows registrants to submit updates without fines.
Under the Executive Regulations of the Federal Decree-Law on Tax Procedures, businesses must inform the FTA of any changes to their tax records within 20 business days. Failure to do so within this timeframe may result in penalties.
The required updates include business name and address, email address, trade license details, legal entity type, partnership agreements, and articles of association.
The grace period, effective from January 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, also waives and reimburses any penalties imposed during this period for late record updates.
The FTA emphasized that this measure aims to support compliance, simplify tax procedures, and strengthen business contributions to the UAE economy. Taxpayers can find further details on the FTA’s official website under the Public Clarifications service.
