Defending champions Islamabad United extended their winning streak in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) with a six-wicket victory over Karachi Kings on Sunday in Karachi.

It was United’s fourth straight win in the tournament.

Chasing a modest target of 129, Islamabad sealed the win with 17 balls to spare, finishing at 129-4 in 17.1 overs.

Captain Shadab Khan led the chase with a composed 47 off 40 balls, hitting five fours and two sixes. He was supported by Azam Khan, who scored 31, and Sahibzada Farhan, who smashed 30 off just 18 balls.

Earlier, Karachi Kings were restricted to 128-7 after being sent in to bat at the National Stadium. Tim Seifert top-scored with 30, while Saad Baig, making his debut, added 20 runs. Lower-order batter Abbas Afridi remained unbeaten on 24 off 9 balls, hitting three sixes and a four to push the total past 120.

Islamabad’s bowling attack shared the spoils. Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan, and Jason Holder each picked up two wickets, while Imad Wasim took one.

In response, Hasan Ali struck twice for Karachi, removing Sahibzada Farhan and Colin Munro, while Mohammad Nabi and Abbas Afridi claimed one wicket each.

Karachi Kings now have two losses from four matches. They will face Peshawar Zalmi on Monday.

Islamabad’s consistent form has placed them among the tournament favorites as they continue to dominate both with bat and ball.
