A US Afghanistan War Commission delegation, led by co-chairs Shamila N. Chaudhary and Dr Colin F. Jackson, met Pakistan's army chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at military headquarters in Rawalpindi on Monday.
The commission is reviewing Washington's two-decade war in Afghanistan, and talks covered Pakistan's role, regional security and Afghanistan, Pakistan's military said.

According to Pakistan's military media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the talks examined the security dynamics that shaped the conflict and Pakistan's experience during the prolonged war. Discussions also covered Islamabad's role in the conflict and developments in Afghanistan.
Munir highlighted the challenges Pakistan faced as a result of the conflict. He stressed the importance of including regional perspectives and Pakistan's experience in the commission's assessment.
The delegation acknowledged Pakistan's role and sacrifices during the conflict, ISPR said.
It also appreciated what it described as the country's continued contribution to regional peace and stability.
