In this day and age, when things are becoming digital and collecting things is seen more as a task than a hobby, there still exists a space that feels like a time machine, a collection of objects that quietly holds decades of stories inside it.

Located on Nisbat Road, Lahore, we explored this fascinating collection, which took us back to our childhood with Top Trumps and Pokémon cards, and offered a glimpse into earlier decades through its vinyl records, classical book collections, and much more.

While exploring the space, Usman Saleem, the owner of the shop, showed us an eye-catching vintage bell and told Nukta, “This bell is almost 60-70 years old but still works like it’s new.” It almost felt like a symbol of another era, when even simple sounds carried meaning in homes, schools, and public spaces. He also showed us classics such as Oliver Twist and a cricket history book from 1954 — a valuable addition for collectors and book lovers alike.

Nukta also met a car collector who started his collection almost two to three years ago and has since made it an important part of his life. Muhammad Nauman Ashraf shared that the first car in his collection was a yellow Hummer, which he received as a gift, and there was no turning back after that.

He also mentioned that his favorite piece in the collection is a Lamborghini model and that he hopes to add Ferrari and Bugatti models in the near future.

Beyond the collectibles themselves, what makes this space special is the sense of nostalgia it creates. Every shelf, display case, and carefully preserved item tells a different story. Some objects remind visitors of childhood memories, while others offer a glimpse into a time they never experienced firsthand. From vintage audio cassettes and old magazines to miniature models and rare memorabilia, the collection highlights how everyday items can become valuable pieces of history over time.

For many collectors, the hobby is not simply about owning objects. It is about preserving memories, celebrating craftsmanship, and connecting with moments that might otherwise be forgotten. Each item carries a personal story: where it was found, who owned it, and why it was worth saving.

In a fast-moving world, this collector’s paradise quietly asks us to slow down and appreciate the beauty of history held in our hands so that the past doesn’t feel far away and the future is something to look forward to.
