Abu Dhabi has been ranked the world’s safest city for 2025, marking its ninth consecutive year at the top since 2017, according to the online database Numbeo.

Out of 382 global cities in the 2025 standings, Abu Dhabi has held Numbeo’s title of the world’s safest city for almost a decade, highlighting the emirate’s ongoing commitment to improving the quality of life for its residents, citizens, and visitors.

The UAE dominated the top 10 list, securing the first four spots as well as the seventh. Abu Dhabi took the top position, followed by Dubai in second, Sharjah in third, and Ras Al Khaimah in fourth. Ajman claimed the seventh spot, just behind Taipei and Doha.

Abu Dhabi’s success can be attributed to the Abu Dhabi Police’s focus on fostering a strong sense of security and trust within the community, further solidifying its reputation as a top destination to live, work, and study, according to WAM.
