In line with its vision to enhance safety and security, Abu Dhabi Police has introduced new regulations for the use of cameras during operations.

These regulations aim to ensure transparency, accountability, and the protection of individual privacy while enhancing the effectiveness of police work.

Key guidelines include:

  • Cameras must be clearly visible on uniforms or attire, ensuring public awareness.
  • Recordings can be made in public and private spaces during legally authorized operations, such as searches and arrests.
  • Detainees must be informed when the camera starts recording.

To ensure confidentiality, all recordings will:

  • Be securely stored using appropriate measures, without alterations or additions.
  • Be shared only for official purposes and with prior approval from the competent authority.

This initiative reinforces Abu Dhabi Police’s commitment to professionalism, transparency, and safeguarding the public’s trust during its operations.
