POA Secretary General Khalid Mahmood has praised Pakistan's Olympic gold medalist, Arshad Nadeem, for his remarkable achievements.
While speaking to Nukta in an exclusive interview, Mahmood believes that Nadeem's legacy will inspire a new generation of Pakistani athletes to strive for excellence.
Arshad threw an Olympic record of 92.97 meters for victory in the Paris Olympics 2024, with India's defending champion Neeraj taking silver with 89.45. Grenada's Anderson Peters claimed bronze with 88.54m.
Before Arshad's remarkable victory, Pakistan had never won an individual gold medal at the Olympics.
Mahmood also addressed the controversy surrounding weightlifter Nooh Butt, who is accused of being part of a parallel weightlifting federation.
Due to strained relations with PWF, Butt missed not only the Paris Olympics qualifiers but also last year’s Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
