Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday requested Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to lead a high-level delegation to represent Pakistan on the global stage, amid heightened tensions with India.
Bilawal confirmed the development in a post on X: “I was contacted earlier today by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who requested that I lead a delegation to present Pakistan’s case for peace on the international stage,” he wrote.
“I am honored to accept this responsibility and remain committed to serving Pakistan in these challenging times,” he added.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the delegation led by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will visit several countries, particularly in Europe, to brief the international community on India’s recent actions amid renewed tensions.
The visit comes in the wake of the latest Pakistan-India conflict. The delegation will highlight Islamabad's concerns over Indian aggression and violations of the Indus Waters Treaty.
The high-level team includes Khurram Dastgir, Hina Rabbani Khar, and Jalil Abbas Jilani, all of whom have previously served as foreign ministers.
Sources confirmed that the delegation is expected to visit several nations to present Pakistan’s position, and additional delegations will also be dispatched to other countries on behalf of Islamabad.
