Daniel Ricciardo axed by RB. Is it goodbye F1 forever?
Following the announcement of his departure from RB, Ricciardo reflected on his F1 journey calling it a "wild ride".
Arguably F1's most effervescent driver has taken his final lap.
Australian racer, Daniel Ricciardo will be leaving RB, bringing his second round in Formula 1 to a close. Reserve driver Liam Lawson will be taking his seat for the remaining six races of the season.
His career has stretched across 14 seasons, his top achievements being finishing P3 in the drivers' championship in 2014 and 2016 and bagging 32 podiums along the way. He has raced for teams like HRT, Toro Rosso, Red Bull, Renault, McLaren, and RB during that time. Ricciardo's last outing on the track was at Sunday’s Singapore Grand Prix, where he secured an 18th-place finish.

The outpouring of tributes from die-hard and competitors speaks volumes about Ricciardo's impact. In a time when F1’s popularity has exploded on social media, thanks to the Netflix series, Drive to Survive, his playful banter, killer overtakes and trademark celebratory 'shoey' have become defining moments for a new wave of fans.
It remains unclear what the future holds for Ricciardo, but a part of us is hoping it's a race seat on the 2025 Formula 1 grid, perhaps with a different team. Honey Badger forever!
