Former Australian batter David Warner has been named captain of Karachi Kings for HBL PSL 10, which kicks off on April 11 across four venues in Pakistan.

Warner was selected by Kings in the platinum category during the players draft, which took place at the iconic Hazuri Bagh in Lahore.

What sets Warner apart is his extensive experience across all formats of the game and his leadership in multiple professional T20 leagues globally.

His tactical yet composed style could prove crucial in ensuring a consistent campaign for the Kings in the PSL.

Salman Iqbal, owner of Karachi Kings, expressed his enthusiasm over Warner’s appointment as team captain.

“We are thrilled to welcome David Warner to the Karachi Kings family as our new captain. His track record as a leader and match-winner aligns perfectly with our vision for HBL PSL 10m,” Salman said.

The team also expressed gratitude to former captain Shan Masood for his valuable contributions during his time as skipper.

“At the same time, we extend our deepest appreciation to Shan Masood for his exceptional contributions last season. His efforts were pivotal in building a strong foundation, and we look forward to his continued role as a key player in the squad,” Salman added.

Warner will also be making his debut appearance in the PSL with this season.

Kings will kick off their PSL 10 journey on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at National Bank Stadium in Karachi, taking on Multan Sultans in their opening match.
