Dubai announces dates for 4th edition of Al Marmoom Film Festival
Festival will take place from Jan 4 to 12, 2025, at the Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve
The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority has announced that the fourth edition of the Al Marmoom: Film in the Desert Festival will take place from 4 to 12 January 2025 at the Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve.
The 2025 edition will be organized under the theme ‘Where Stories Come to Life’, serving as a platform for regional and global filmmakers to showcase their works to the public.
With an extensive set of events, including film screenings, live performances, workshops, panel discussions, and digital art exhibitions, the festival will host a family zone, a marketplace, and spotlight homegrown F&B brands.
The festival’s design is inspired by the UAE’s Al Ghaf tree, symbolizing resilience and cultural heritage, with a layout that highlights emerging talents and innovative art forms.
The festival will also host the Al Marmoom Short-Film Competition, which covers several categories such as documentaries, animation, live-action, and AI-generated films.
Moreover, visitors will be able to enjoy UAE-themed heritage displays, music performances, and exhibits dedicated to Emirati traditions, reflecting Dubai Culture’s efforts to integrate the UAE’s legacy into contemporary creative practices.
