Violators of a newly issued law regulating the use of the Emirate of Dubai and Government of Dubai emblems could face severe penalties. These include imprisonment for up to five years or fines ranging from Dh100,000 to Dh500,000, or both, according to an announcement by authorities.
The legislation, enacted by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, aims to safeguard the integrity and value of these official symbols. The law strictly prohibits their use for commercial activities, such as advertising or product promotion.
Under the new provisions, any act that distorts, disrespects, or diminishes the value of the emblems is also forbidden.
Additionally, using logos in activities or events that contradict the values and principles of the Emirate of Dubai or conflict with public order and morals is explicitly banned.
Permitted uses of the Dubai Emirate emblem are restricted to specific places, events, documents, and seals, requiring special authorization.

The Dubai Government logo is designated for official use, appearing on government buildings, events, activities, records, documents, and digital applications.
To ensure consistent and appropriate use, the General Secretariat of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai will issue a guide governing the application of these logos.
The law further mandates that anyone aware of violations must report them to the competent authorities, tasked with taking the necessary legal measures against offenders.
