Dubai Police have arrested a man for practicing medicine without a license after discovering that he was performing hair transplant procedures inside his residential apartment.

According to authorities, the unlicensed activities posed serious risks to clients’ health and represented a clear violation of UAE laws regulating medical and cosmetic procedures.

The suspect had been promoting his illegal services online, sharing videos of hair transplant procedures on a dedicated social media account to attract clients with low-cost offers.

During the raid, police officers found a range of medical devices, surgical instruments, and chemicals used in hair transplant procedures including anaesthetics, disinfectants, and solutions typically used in clinical environments.

Legal action was immediately taken against the suspect. The apartment was sealed, and all medical materials were confiscated in coordination with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).

Investigations revealed that the man had converted his three-bedroom apartment into an unlicensed clinic using one room for performing procedures, while the remaining two were used as living quarters.

Authorities confirmed that the makeshift clinic did not meet basic hygiene, sterilization, or safety standards, putting patients at severe risk of infection and complications.

The arrest followed thorough investigations conducted by the Anti-Economic Crimes Department at Dubai Police’s General Department of Criminal Investigation, in close cooperation with the Dubai Health Authority.

Officials emphasized that illegal medical practices undermine the integrity of Dubai’s healthcare system and endanger public safety.

Public advisory: Verify licenses and report suspicious clinics

Dubai Police urged members of the public to:

  • Seek treatments only from licensed medical facilities approved by the DHA or the Ministry of Health.
  • Verify the qualifications and licenses of practitioners before undergoing any cosmetic or medical procedure.
  • Avoid home-based, salon, or hotel room treatments, which are illegal and unsafe.

The authorities also warned against misleading social media promotions that offer low-cost medical or cosmetic procedures without proper authorization.

Dubai Police reaffirmed their commitment to protecting public health, safety, and wellbeing, calling on residents to report any similar illegal activities through official channels, including the Dubai Police call center (901), the “Police Eye” smart service, or via the Dubai Police app.
