Dubai Police have unveiled a new citywide zoning model that categorizes areas into “urban” and “rural” zones in a bid to strengthen security and streamline emergency response operations, WAM reported.
The move is part of a broader push to align policing strategy with the emirate’s long-term development under the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan.
The new framework is designed to optimize the distribution of patrol units, enhance the deployment of personnel, and integrate smart technologies -- such as AI-powered systems -- to better serve diverse communities across the city and its outskirts.
The updated operational strategy was introduced during the quarterly performance review of the General Department of Operations, chaired by Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigations.
He underscored that the zoning initiative would sharpen Dubai Police’s ability to respond swiftly to emergencies while aligning policing efforts with the distinct needs of different regions.
By customizing personnel allocation for urban and rural areas, officials say the force will be better positioned to manage traffic, ensure public safety, and deliver community services more effectively.
