Dubai isn't just a city that boasts the world's tallest building, the world’s largest ferris wheel, or even the world’s deepest pool. It's a record-breaking playground, celebrating remarkable achievements both big and small.
Dubai's impressive collection of over 425 Guinness World Records is a testament to its ambition. While records are constantly being broken and challenged, innovation and achievements are in Dubai’s DNA.
Here's a list of some of the city's lesser-known Guinness World Records that may shock you:
Largest synchronized car dance
Sony Playstation in Dubai orchestrated the ‘largest synchronized car dance ever’ on March 5, 2022, featuring a whopping 265 vehicles. From 4x4s to sleek supercars, these drivers formed the iconic GT7 logo, for the launch of the popular racing game Gran Turismo 7.

This record-breaking car dance wasn't a first for Dubai. The city actually topped two previous records for the biggest car dance before this one, the recent one consisting of 180 Nissan Patrols creating the shape of a giant Desert Falcon in 2018.
Highest base jump from a building

On April 21, 2014, Fred Fugen and Vincent Reffet took base jumping to new heights with a legal and record-breaking 828-meter leap from the world's tallest building, Burj Khalifa. After weeks of intense training at Skydive Dubai, the two daredevils defied gravity and etched their names in history.
First unmanned floating police station
Located off the coast of Dubai's World Islands, the Dubai Police Floating Smart Station is operational 24/7 and provides a wide range of services to residents and seafarers.
From reporting crimes and traffic incidents to obtaining good conduct certificates and social support, this station offers a total of 60 services. Dubai Police won a Guinness for the 'first unmanned floating smart police station’ on 20 June 2023.
Fun fact: Dubai Police also holds the record for the ‘fastest police car in service’ i.e. Bugatti Veyron, which reaches a top speed of 407 kms per hour.
Most people performing burpees

In yet another record, the Dubai Police achieved the title of ‘most people performing burpees’ with 1,455 policemen performing it during the Dubai Fitness Challenge. The challenge was recorded on Nov 5, 2024.
First 3D printed lab in the world

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) constructed the ‘first 3D printed lab in the world’ – a Robotics and Drone Laboratory, It is also the first building in the UAE to be fully printed onsite. It won the coveted title on September 27, 2021.
Youngest person to publish a book
A four-year-old Emirati boy, Saeed Rashed AlMheiri has set the Guinness World Record for being the youngest male to publish a book titled ‘The Elephant Saeed and the Bear’ in 2023. The book is about kindness and showcases an unexpected bond between the two animals.

His biggest source of inspiration, yet another Guinness World Record holder, is his sister AlDhabi Rashed AlMheiri, who at 8 years and 239 days old made history as the youngest female to publish a bilingual book series.
World’s largest wooden Arabic dhow
The majestic dhow, named 'Obaid' after Obaid Jumaa bin Majid Al Falasi, is a testament to Emirati craftsmanship. It was built by an Emirati shipbuilder who began his apprenticeship in the mid-1940s at the age of nine. The dhow measures 91.47 meters in length, which is equivalent to the size of a standard American football field, and has a width of 20.41 meters, nearly half the width of a standard American football field.
The ship is built from approximately 1,700 tonnes of wood and 800 tonnes of steel. It won the Guinness World Record for the Largest Wooden Arabic Dhow.
