Engro secures approvals for strategic telecom partnership with Jazz
Shared tower network aims to cut costs, expand digital access for millions

Engro Corporation Limited has received all regulatory approvals for its strategic partnership with Pakistan Mobile Communications Limited, known as Jazz, and its parent company, VEON Group.
Under the agreement, Jazz’s telecom infrastructure assets, held by Deodar (Private) Limited, will be transferred to Engro Connect (Private) Limited, a subsidiary of Engro Corporation.
The deal, finalized through a Scheme of Arrangement, represents one of the largest private-sector investments in Pakistan’s telecom sector.
The partnership will provide Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) with access to Engro’s nationwide portfolio of over 14,000 telecom towers. The shared infrastructure is expected to reduce operational costs, improve service quality and expand digital connectivity for millions of Pakistanis.
As demand and technology continue to evolve, Engro’s extensive tower platform is also well-positioned to support future innovations, according to a statement.
Around the world, telecom towers are already being used for more than just mobile signals – from powering smart cities to strengthening community infrastructure.
“This investment reinforces our commitment to Pakistan’s digital future,” said Hussain Dawood, chairman of Engro. “Connectivity empowers people and drives progress.”
Abdul Samad Dawood, CEO of Engro Holdings, said the move aligns with the company’s mission of enabling growth. “Prosperity relies on technology, and this milestone strengthens our role in Pakistan’s development,” he said.
Engro Corporation President and CEO Ahsan Zafar Syed credited the achievement to collaboration with regulators, Jazz and VEON Group. “This success is a result of belief, partnership and perseverance,” he said.
Pakistan’s telecom sector is seen as a key driver of economic growth, with increasing demand for mobile and internet connectivity. The deal is expected to enhance infrastructure efficiency and affordability for consumers.
