Pakistan’s former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan on Thursday refused to meet investigators from the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), who arrived at Adiala Jail to question him over the management of his social media accounts.

The agency is investigating how statements continue to appear on Khan’s official accounts despite his incarceration.

According to jail sources, the NCCIA team waited for two hours even after Khan declined to see them. The agency, acting under judicial directives, is expected to make further attempts to question him.

This is not the first confrontation between Khan and the NCCIA. On September 16, a three-member team led by Additional Director Ayaz Khan, accompanied by Sub-Inspectors Muhammad Monib Zafar and Muhammad Waseem Khan, met Khan inside the prison. The interrogation quickly became tense.

Sources said Khan initially refused to answer questions and banged on the door, demanding to leave. He accused the lead investigator of pursuing a personal vendetta. “Additional Director Ayaz Khan has made fake, bogus cases against me, including the cypher. I don’t even want to see him. His conscience is dead,” Khan said.

Officials insisted they were acting strictly under court orders, but Khan objected to the timing, saying, “This is my time to meet my lawyer and wife.”

When asked to identify who was running his social media accounts, Khan refused. “I will not tell any name or they will get abducted,” he explained, noting that messages were passed indirectly through visitors and paraphrased by his team.

Investigators suggested the accounts might be managed by US-based PTI supporter Jibran Ilyas, but Khan denied the claim. He also reacted sharply when asked about possible involvement of foreign intelligence agencies such as the CIA, RAW, or Mossad. “Jibran is more patriotic than you. You know very well who is with Mossad,” Khan retorted.

Khan further rejected allegations that his social media activity was inciting unrest. “I am not creating chaos. But now the current government has again started operations. For 20 years, I have been saying operations are not the solution. Pakistan should never have jumped into a foreign war,” he said.

The NCCIA also referenced statements from Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, claiming she passed messages to Jibran Ilyas. Khan dismissed the claim: “Aleema has no role in politics.” When asked why PTI leaders sometimes disown posts from his official accounts, he replied, “My political leadership is fearful. They don’t have the courage to face the consequences.”

Outside Adiala Jail on September 16, Aleema Khan herself responded sharply to questions about her brother’s social media activity. “Colonel sitting inside Adiala Jail is running Imran Khan’s social media accounts,” she said sarcastically.
