Israeli strikes on Gaza hit multiple residential buildings and killed at least 13 people on Sunday, authorities said. The strikes came despite Hamas saying it had agreed to the latest stage of a deal to end the war.

Why did Israeli strikes continue despite the Gaza ceasefire deal?

Hamas said Friday it had agreed to a plan championed by US President Donald Trump that includes handing over its weapons and a gradual Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. Israel has not officially commented on the agreement. A political source told AFP there would be "no withdrawal whatsoever" without Hamas's "genuine disarmament."

Where did the deadly strikes hit in Gaza?

Gaza's civil defense rescue service, which operates under Hamas authority, said eight people were killed in strikes around midnight that hit multiple residential buildings, with five more killed later in the day. In one overnight attack near central Gaza, a man and his wife were killed and several others wounded when an Israeli military helicopter struck an apartment, a civil defense spokesman said. An elderly man and a child were killed in a separate attack on an apartment west of Gaza City.

Three people, including a child, were killed in a strike on a residential building northwest of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. One person was killed and four others injured in a drone strike targeting civilians near a displacement camp in Jabalia, northern Gaza, the spokesman said. A couple and their child were also killed in a dawn strike on an apartment west of Gaza City, with the spokesman saying the woman was pregnant.

Who else was killed in the latest Gaza strikes?

Two people were killed in a drone strike on their vehicle in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, which Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Hospitals said were brothers. Authorities reported Saturday that eight people were killed in separate strikes that damaged a hospital's medical supplies and targeted a rooftop. The Israeli army said two of those strikes targeted members of the Army of Islam and Islamic Jihad groups.
