Jordanian architect Sahel Al Hiyari wins UAE’s Great Arab Minds Award

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, has announced Sahel Al Hiyari as the winner of the Great Arab Minds Award in Architecture and Design. The Jordanian architect and urban designer was honored for his pioneering contributions to modern Arab architecture.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stated on his official account on X: "From Jordan, where he drew inspiration from the beauty of nature and the depth of heritage, architect Sahel Al Hiyari presents designs that blend tradition with modernity, and identity with nature. He excelled in numerous distinctive architectural projects and contributed to teaching architecture and showcasing his research and work at prestigious international universities."
"The Arab world possesses a great legacy in the field of architecture... Our architectural projects in every Arab country tell stories of the civilization and stature we have built throughout history." He added.

He has taught at prestigious institutions, including the American University of Beirut, Jordan University of Science and Technology, Harvard University, and Columbia University.
