In this exclusive interview, Deputy Inspector General of Police Pir Muhammad Shah sits down with Nukta Pakistan’s Senior Correspondent Ahmer Rehman Khan to discuss the future of traffic management in Karachi and beyond.
Shah reveals the upcoming launch of a faceless traffic challan system within a month, which will use cameras to deliver tickets and eliminate on-road stops. The initiative extends beyond Karachi, with traffic surveillance cameras also planned for Hyderabad and Sukkur.
Vehicle lifting for wrong parking has now been permanently banned. Shah also addressed the challenges of managing Karachi’s heavy traffic as an industrial hub. These reforms aim to boost efficiency and transparency as Sindh’s traffic policing enters a digital era, prioritizing citizen convenience.
